Brian 0'Leary

I'm currently living in Dublin where I study Computer Science in UCD.

My current GPA is 3.8 and I plan to keep up my grades for the rest of my time in college.

I enjoy undertaking challenging projects and learning new languages and technologies.

I'm looking for exciting software-internship opportunities to undertake next summer.

Feel free to contact me about any opportunities.

I've worked as a chef for the past 3 summers in busy restaurants. I've developed a strong work ethic and an acute attention to detaill.

Have a look at my LinkedIn for more of my work experience.

Some of the projects I've done:

Monopoly board game

I created and developed a 2-6 player Monopoly Board game using Java. This project was undertaken as part of my Computer Science college course.

I was a member of a team of 3 while developing this project. We used GitHub for version control and used scrum and agile methodologies while completing the project.

I learned a great deal about software development from this project. We achieved an A- grade for our project and you can check out our code on our GitHub repo.

Monopoly Bot

We also created and developed an AI bot to play a version of our Monopoly board game. his bot then competed against other bots made by the class.

We again used Java to make our bot and used GitHub for version control. Check out the project here.

Jump Dash Android Game

I created and developed a mobile android game using Unity and C# scripting.

The premise of "Jump Dash" is, as the name suggests, to Jump over and Dash through obstacles.

This project taught me lots about the software development cycle and the importance of user testing when fixing bugs.

Jump Dash is currently available for download on Google Play.

Monopoly

Light-Riders coding competition

I developed a bot (using Java) to compete in an online coding competition. The coding competition, entitled "Light-Riders" is based on the tron arcade game. It's similar to a 2 player version of the classic mobile game "Snake".

More info about the competition can be found at Riddles.io.

I greatly developed my understanding of several algorithms I implemented to help my bot make its decisions

I uploaded my bots code to GitHub which can be found here.
